London: Dan Burn has shifted his focus to England duty after helping Newcastle secure a historic League Cup victory over Liverpool.
The 32-year-old defender, who scored Newcastle’s opener in their 2-1 win at Wembley, celebrated briefly before reporting for his first England call-up under new manager Thomas Tuchel.
Burn, released by Newcastle’s academy at 11, has battled through lower-league football to earn his place. Now, he hopes to cement a spot in England’s 2026 World Cup squad.
